Kenyan ambassador to Pakistan Dr Julius Bitok has thrown his weight behind governor Jackson Mandago's bid for a second term in office.
This is a major boost to Mandago's team given the fact that Bitock came in second, behind Mandago during the 2013 United Republican Party (URP) primaries.
Speaking during the burial of Kogo Naomi Sile in Songoliet, Kapseret sub- county, Saturday, Dr Bitok said Uasin Gishu county had development under the leadership of governor Mandago.
"Mandago deserves a second term in office because he has transformed this county for the four years he has been in charge," noted Amb Bitok.
The governor who was present during the burial named building of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres in every school, renovation of dips, improved road network across the county and built health facilities as some of the milestones he has achieved since 2013.
"I have many other projects to complete. I therefore ask for your support as I have an enormous plan to further positively change livelihoods during my second term," Mandago said.
Mandago who secured the Jubilee party ticket is facing a strong competition from tycoon Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop better known as Buzeki who is vying on an independent ticket.
