As the world celebrates Easter, Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has joined a host of elected leaders who have wished Kenyans across the country a happy Easter holiday.

"I wish everyone a happy Easter holiday, may God bless your homes with happiness and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ this Easter," said Mandago.

Through his official Facebook page on Friday, the vocal governor referred to a verse in the Bible where it notes that Christ gave new birth into a living hope through his crucifixion. 

"1 Peter 1:3 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," Mandago posted.
