Roba said the construction of modern accident and emergency center and maternity wing at Mandera County Referral Hospital is a big step aimed at improving health sector in the region.

He said the facilities will enhance medical care. 

"We are doing everything possible to improve the health sector in the region. I call on contractors to hasten the construction of service delivery to the people to start soon," he said.

The governor added that the construction of the emergency center will cost Sh200 million to be complete while maternity wing will use Sh64 million. 

Roba noted that his administration will be strict to contractors who will derail the county's service delivery when given projects to do. 

The hospital will serve the region, including Garissa County and its' environs.
