After Tuesday, October 25th's terror attack that left more than 10 people dead, Interior CS Joseph Ole Nkaissery has declared a dawn-to-dusk curfew in Mandera.
In a special gazette notice given by the CS, the curfew will affect six towns in Mandera County and extend further to twenty Kilometres away from the Kenya-Somalia border.
The curfew begins on October 28 to December 27 and shall see everyone remain indoors as from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am.
Prior to Tuesday's attack, Mandera had started enjoying some peace and sense of security.
A section of leaders have welcomed the curfew saying it shall beef up security in the area.
However, residents can acquire a permit to move around, which is a formal written request from the areas' administrative heads.
