Orie Rogo Manduli, a renowned Politician and activist has launched a scathing attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta for ignoring former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga during the Madaraka day celebrations held in Nyeri.
Manduli, who is popularly referred to as Iron Lady termed the way Raila was treated as undemocratic after the President and his Deputy failed to recognize his presence.
Manduli also said that is unfortunate that Uhuru and Ruto snubbed Raila yet his presence could be felt.
“Ignoring Raila Odinga was the most terrible thing that President Uhuru Kenyatta can ever do. Raila is a national and international figure. How can he pretend that Raila was not there, huh? By not giving Raila Odinga a chance to address the nation, President Kenyatta gave Odinga mileage more than he can imagine. Raila was the one who said “Kibaki Tosha”, and Kibaki comes from the Nyeri region,” Manduli told eDaily.
Manduli further said that she cannot imagine this nation without the former prime minister. “Odinga is a former Prime Minister, a doyen of Kenyan politics. I mean, without Raila, where could we be as a nation? A part of the freedom we enjoy today is because of him, isn’t it?
