This comes after a widow's cow was stolen on Sunday night by cattle rustlers.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, the residents urged police officers to increase patrols at night in order to put an end to the cases.

"We have been having the fear and sorrow of losing our animals to thieves and we can't fight them because they are usually armed, we urge our security personal to patrol at night in these hot spot areas in order to control the situation," said Victor Mecha, a resident.

According to the area residents, widows and orphans are the core target of rustlers because they can't fight back for their animals.

"This rustlers mostly steal from widows and orphans because of their low ability to fight back, that is why we are urging police to be vigilant and patrol to save us," said Jane Moseti, another resident.
