Bernard Mang’oli will captain AFC Leopards with assistance from Paul Mungai Kiongera during the 2017 KPL season.
Speaking to a local sports portal, AFC Leopards coach Stewart Hall said that Mang'oli's experience was the reason he picked the midfielder to head the team.
"To me a team captain is very important because his role is to the smooth running of the playing unit, he acts as the link between players and the technical bench and also between players and the management. Mang’oli is a respected player in the team and I decided to retain him as team captain, the players respect him which is important, Kiongera is equally a good leader and he will be the assistant team captain," Hall said as quoted by futaa.com.
It was previously rumoured that Duncan Otieno would be the favourite for the role.
