Police in Kiambu County has launched a manhunt for two suspects in connection with the kidnapping and torture of the wife of a former Nairobi MCA who later succumbed to injuries in hospital.

The family of the late Lucy Njambi who died last Friday is calling for justice claiming her husband was behind the crime.

It is alleged that Samuel Ndung’u the immediate former Satellite Dagoretti MCA went to his estranged wife Lucy Njambi’s apartment in Kiambu County and made a request to be served food in the car he was driving.

Lucy heeded the demand but instead of her husband, she encountered men who abducted, raped and poured acid on her then abandoned her.

She succumbed to injuries last Friday at Kenyatta National hospital where good samaritans had rushed her.

Kiambu DCIO Paul Wambugu said investigations are ongoing and called on members of the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of two suspects whom they are pursuing.

Ndung’u was arraigned before a Kiambu court last Friday morning but was not allowed to take a plea due to ongoing investigations. The victim’s family alleges that her husband was upset after she opted to end their marriage and refused to get back together.
