Manicure and pedicure job is mostly considered to be a women affair with many men shying away from it.
But for one Joseph Kagiri and Paul Mwaura in Makongeni Shopping Centre, this is the job they have to wake up to every day to make ends meet.
The duo say that the job is the only thing they have to rely on to pay their bills and provide for their young families.
"My counterpart and I are the breadwinners in our families and this job that many may associate with women is the sole thing that we depend on for our day to day living," Kagiri said on Wednesday when we visited them at their makeshift roadside shed.
They say that activities associated with women beauty and fashion provide an attractive business opportunity for anyone intending to start a business targeting women.
"Women care so much about how they look. They can forego anything else just to ensure that they look beautiful and attractive," Mwaura who has Diploma in Fashion and Beauty says.
The two, however, says that to venture into the business, one has to have passion and zeal to serve women.
"Beauty is something that any woman is concerned about. So, whenever they come to you for services you have to ensure that they are satisfied. This is not something you can do if you are not passionate about," said Kagiri.
Their advice to the youths is not to be selective and choosy when it comes to jobs.
"There no longer exist women or men jobs. As long as you can earn from something, go for it and make a living from it," said Mwaura.
