There was no love lost between veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto at the height of the presidential campaigns.
Visiting Garissa on February 9, Odinga described Ruto as mannerless and chastised Garissa Township MP Aden Duale for rallying behind Ruto.
"Duale is mannerless for supporting Ruto who is also mannerless," Odinga fired to a cheering crowd.
Raila was on a charm offensive aimed at the residents of Garissa whom he wanted to support NASA in the race for the presidency.
Duale was firmly in Jubilee and was seen as Ruto's wingman.
Ruto was a close Raila ally but the two fell out over the Mau eviction saga that saw the former prime minister take the flak for the evictions.
Raila exhorted the people of Garissa to reject the Jubilee agenda and instead embrace the progressive NASA agenda.
