Police in Kijabe, Lari Sub County have launched investigations into an incident where the body of a middle-aged man was found dumped at Kijabe Monkey corner road in Lari on Tuesday morning.

According to the police, the body was discovered by passersby at the road near Ngubi Forest that connects Kijabe town with Maai Mahiu-Nairobi highway.

Confirming the incident, Lari acting police commander Dorothy Nahashon said that the body was discovered by passerby’s who reported to the police.

She added that the body was covered with a polythene bag and had no injuries and that the deceased could have been killed elsewhere and dumped along the road.

The police boss further observed that the deceased had no documents on himself making it difficult to be identified.

She said that police had launched investigations into the matter adding that the culprits behind the killing will be arrested.

“We have immediately launched investigations into the incident in order to establish those behind the murder,” she said during a briefing with journalists at Lari police station on Wednesday.

She urged residents to work with police by providing information that will lead to arrest of suspects. The body of the deceased was taken to Kijabe mortuary as investigations continue.

A section of residents who were shocked by the incident urged the police to intensify security. The residents said that cases of crime were being reported in the area and that police need to up their surveillance.
