A body of a middle-aged man was on Wednesday morning retrieved from River Gucha in Kisii County.

Residents identified the deceased as Calvin who hails from Bamanyi village.

The deceased family said Calvin left home on Tuesday evening but didn't return back home in the night.

Jared Nyakoyo, a resident said the body was retrieved and had no physical injuries.

"We can't tell if he was killed before his body was dumped into the river. But, we hope police officers will investigate the matter," he said.

He added that police from Gucha arrived at the scene and collected the body to a Kisii Teaching and Refferal Hospital mortuary.
