Chief Justice David Maraga has warned politician against intimidating the courts on the judicial process ahead of the August polls.
Speaking on Tuesday, Maraga urged politicians and political outfits to let the judiciary execute its mandate independently and free from intimidation.
“Politicians, let the Judiciary do its work. We do not want statements that are meant to intimidate judicial officers. Judges and magistrates will not determine cases on what is said but based on the law and facts,” he noted.
Maraga was responding to the opposition alliance NASA, after the outfit warned the Court of Appeal against overturning a ruling made by the High Court last month on electoral laws.
The High Court had ruled that presidential results declared by the returning officer at the constituency are final.
Electoral agency IEBC, however, appealed the decision seeking its reversal.
