Weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta called Chief Justice David Maraga and his 6-member judge bench at the Supreme Court crooks, the top judge has yet again come out to 'protect' the president.

While submitting his comprehensive ruling to the verdict to annul the presidential results on Wednesday, Maraga distanced Uhuru from any wrongdoing, following NASA claims that he broke the law by using state resources during his re-election campaign.

According to Maraga, the petitioner(NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga) did not provide sufficient evidence to show that Uhuru broke the law.

On the other side, Maraga directed IEBC to put in place a complementary system for repeat vote as previous elections had "enormous illegalities & irregularities".

This directive may be counted as a big win for the opposition coalition NASA, who have repeatedly claimed they will not be party to the October 17 repeat polls if changes are not made in the IEBC.

NASA want's IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other senior commissioners fired for bungling the polls, they also what Dubai-based printing firm  Al-Ghurair and KEIMS kits provider OT Morpho disassociated from the polls.
