Chief Justice David Maraga has said judges will work round the clock to see to it that election disputes are settled in good time.

Maraga said that they will work 24/7 to meet “the constitutional timelines without compromising on the quality of rulings”.

The CJ was speaking during launching of the Bench book on the electoral disputes resolution.

According to analysts, the country’s 12th General Elections are the biggest event in the Kenyan electioneering history and any litigation coming from it is also expected to be huge and time-consuming.

As reported by the Star, Maraga similarly hinted that his judges are taking refresher courses so they are up to speed with changes made in the Election Laws since the last elections.

“We must never forget the crisis that gripped Kenya in the aftermath of the 2007 General Election. Those horrid events will always be a reminder that when electoral disputes are left in the hands of non-judicial processes, Kenyans pay an enormous price,” Maraga said.
