Chief Justice David Maraga has revealed that Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet has been ignoring his calls to beef up the security of judges amid threats from political leaders.
In a press statement on behalf of the Judicial Service Commission, Maraga stated that the lives of Judicial officers were in danger since the IG had been ignoring his calls.
The CJ, who has been criticised largely by members of the Jubilee Party after the Supreme Court nullified the presidential results on September 1, said those threatening judicial officers will be responsible in case anything happens to them.
"The Judicial Service Commission notes with dismay that the Inspector General of police who is expected to provide security to all government facilities has repeatedly ignored calls to act exposing judicial officers and litigants to danger,” said CJ Maraga on Tuesday.
