Chief Justice David has urged Kenyan leaders to respect the rule of law.
Maraga, speaking at Safari Park Hotel during the national prayer breakfast in Nairobi on Thursday morning said leaders must lead by example.
“Leaders should respect the law for the common citizens to see and respect the law failure to which we will become a state without laws governing us,” he said.
Maraga reiterated political hatred will derail development in this country and leaders should consider working together for the purpose of developing all corners of this country.
“Politics should not divide the nation that God has blessed. Politicians should keep off dragging Kenyans to corruption but instead fight hard to ensure corruption comes to an end in this country and use the available resources to improve the livelihoods of poor Kenyans deep in the villages,” he noted.
He commended the government’s efforts in the fight against corruption saying those who will be found guilty will be sent to jail and the stolen funds be recovered.
