Newly appointed Chief Justice David Maraga has eulogised former Chief Justice Abdul Majid Cockar who died on Monday at his Nairobi home.
Speaking during the burial ceremony for Cockar whose remains were buried at the Kariokor Muslim cemetery later on Monday, Maraga described him as a flare of motivation for many on the bar and the bench.
"Former colleagues in the Judiciary and the legal profession agree that Cockar left an indelible footprint in Kenya as a former public servant, lawyer and family man," Maraga said.
The Chief Justice also challenged Kenyans to read Cockar's autobiography 'Doings, Non- doings and Mis-doings' that he launched in 2012.
Cockar, who served as Kenya's second Asian Chief Justice between 1994 and 1997 died aged 93.
