Maraga who held talks with representatives of the Council of Governors at his Supreme Court office on Wednesday, blamed the delay in the determination of the cases on the high traffic courts handle.

“I will talk with the heads of the different courts to see how these cases can be finalised faster,” Maraga said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

COG chairman Peter Munya had asked Maraga to help speed up the cases, which are about the interpretation of the Constitution in implementing devolution.

“We look forward to more courts in the counties and as governors, we are ready and willing to provide land,” said Munya.

“We have confidence in the ability of the new Chief Justice and hope that the Judiciary will dispense justice without fear,” he added.

Other governors who attended the meeting are John Mruttu (Taita Taveta), Jack Ranguma (Kisumu), James Ongwae (Kisii) and Julius Malombe (Kitui), Mwangi wa Iria (Murang’a), Martin Wambora (Embu) and John Nyagarama (Nyamira).
