The Judiciary has been under attack from Executive with President Uhuru Kenyatta blaming the third arm of government of allegedly delaying prosecution of corruption cases.

Maraga’s latest move comes when the country is experiencing multi-billion scandals among the National Youth Service scam.

“I do not want instances where corruption cases are dragged yet we can be able to handle the matter in few months’ time. That is the reason why I thought it wise to launch the Division,” he said.

“It’s now upon judges to work within the time frames to ensure expeditious delivery of justice. That is my intention and I hope it will work,” he said.

According to Maraga, the Division will handle corruption cases within three months and a subsequent one month in case of an appeal.
