Chief Justice David Maraga has said that his office anticipates alot of election petitions resulting from the August 8 polls.
Speaking on Sunday to the press, Maraga said that the judiciary expects more petitions from MCAs mostly.
He, however, stated that adequate mechanism had been put in place to ensure all petitions are handled in due course.
“We anticipate a lot of petitions after the August 8 elections, especially MCAs’ petitions,” said Maraga.
He said the judiciary was carrying out training as a means of preparedness.
“That is why we are re-training our magistrates and judges to be ready to handle all election petitions within the required period of time as per the law.”
