Chief Justice David Maraga has sent a stern warning to lawyers against engaging in legal profession malpractices.

Maraga said the 'learned friends' must act with utmost integrity in discharging their duties.

"It is important that lawyers discharge their duties professionally to solve many challenges facing the country such as corruption," he said, as quoted by The Standard.

The Chief Justice was speaking on Tuesday during a ceremony where 53 lawyers were admitted as advocates of the High Court in Nairobi.

Maraga warned that the Judiciary would crackdown on rogue lawyers engaging in unprofessional conduct.

"The legal profession is noble and your admission to the bar demands you be more responsible and people of integrity," he noted.

The CJ added advocates implicated in corruption would be struck out from the roll of advocates.
