Chief Justice David Maraga could be the judge of the moment when the Supreme Court makes its final determination on presidential petition.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga filed the petition seeking nullification of Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory on grounds of massive electoral malpractices.

And in the bench of seven, Maraga’s vote could make or kill Raila Odinga’s hopes based on his stand n the case.

“Maraga seems to be the most neutral judge given his past record and ability to make decisions. He is not easily compromised,” says Gideon Mamboleo.

He further says: “I still believe that his vote could be crucial to either side and he may ultimately end Kenya to another election.”

For the petition to go through it needs a backing of at least four judges of the seven and only a few are new to the bench.

Both Smokin Wanjala, Jackton Ojwang’, Mohammed Ibrahim and Njoki Ndung’u played part in 2013 ruling that handed Uhuru a victory.
