Chief Justice David Maraga and his Supreme Court colleagues now wants top political parties, media and other personalities to desist from discussing ongoing presidential petition.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga had moved to the highest court in the country to challenge victory of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

And in what could be yet another battle of titans, Maraga through a statement wants the political players in the case to allow the court made independent ruling on the matter.

“Our attention has been drawn particularly by the political elites and other partners who continue to discuss an issue that is before the court.

“We urge them to allow the court make independent observation on the matter without intimidation and coercion by other external entities,” added the statement.

In Mombasa, Odinga warned that the court had the last opportunity to restore justice by awarding the winner his rightful share.

Separately at Bomet, Uhuru also said he was confident of yet another landmark ruling that could uphold his victory.
