Maranda high school will send the highest number of students to Universities next year after 425 students met the Joints Admission Board requirement of grade C+ and above.
The school which registered 493 candidates for the examination was identified as the best performing boys’ school in the county by Education Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i during the release of the results.
Out of the top 100 schools nationally, Maranda registered the highest number of candidates (493), followed by St Joseph Boys Kitale (477), Alliance Girls (394) and Alliance boys (374)
The outgoing Maranda school principal Boaz Owino, said the school which had 10 As, 113 A-, 112 B +, 76 B, 64 B- and 50 C + grades performed exceptionally well despite the high number of students who sat high stake examination.
Owino said that despite being ranked position 21 nationally they are satisfied with the results posted by the 2017 candidates.
He further indicated that they are not interested in thinning the student population adding that they may register even more candidates come next year.
