Former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende last week made an announcement that he would vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
This came after months of speculation that he would be going for a geographical switch from Emuhaya constituency to the city county.
“I have interest and am angling for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat,” he said.
The big question remains, will the 'solomonic' man make it against other big wigs?
His pros
1. He served as speaker of the National Assembly and managed heated debates with a 'solomonic' touch
2. He has served as a leader in Emuhaya before
Hos cons
1. He has never held a senior Nairobi political seat
2. Not using the two political coalitions might do him less good
