Former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende has dismissed allegations that Jubilee operatives were using his rural home in Luanda to stuff ballot for the Western Kenya region.
Marende who has declared his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta, denied the claims accusing his political rivals of peddling the rumours.
"I have no connection with the repeat presidential election. Those are rumours spread by enemies out to tarnish my name and incite people against me," he said, adding that he learnt of the arrival of the ballot papers from Dubai on the news.
Marende took issue with NASA leadership for staging mass protests against IEBC in Opposition strongholds.
He said for the country to move on, the fresh polls must be held as planned.
"We must uphold and believe in the rule of law and, as a law-abiding Kenyan, I urge people to turn out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right by voting for a leader of their choice as enshrined in the Constitution and in accordance with the Supreme Court ruling," he said, as quoted by The Standard.
