Former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende has been kicked out of Kenya Power's board of directors.
Marende finished a distant fourth during the board's polls to fill three vacancies on the company’s board of directors conducted on December 1 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.
The former speaker has been Kenya Power's chairman.
Marende garnered 2,323,366 votes, falling behind Zipporah Jesang Kering who finished third with 978,692,508,
Mahboub Maalim Mohamed garnered 979,253,302 votes to finish top ahead of Mr Adil Khawaja who garnered 978,978,742 votes in the election conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
A statement from the Kenya Power company secretary Beatrice Meso said Mr Mohamed, Mr Khawaja and Mrs Kering will take up the three vacant positions on the board.
