Mr. Mahboub Maalim Mohamed who garnered 979,253,302 votes finished top of the pile, ahead of Mr. Adil Khawaja who garnered 978,978,742 votes.
“Consequently, Maalim Mohamed, Adil Khawaja, Zipporah Kering have been elected by the shareholders as directors of Kenya Power,” read a statement signed by Beatrice Meso, company secretary as quoted by the Standard.
Marende was once a supporter of the NASA coalition, but has of late been seen associating with the Jubilee leaders.
He was among Luhya leaders who thronged Statehouse to meet President Kenyatta and his deputy and is seen as a key figure for Jubilee in the Western region.
Before the August elections, Marende’s name came up as a possible candidate for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat under the ODM ticket, but it never came to be.
The elections were conducted on December 1 to fill three vacancies on the board of directors of Kenya Power.
