Nyamira senator Mong’are Okong’o will after all not challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee and NASA’s Raila Odinga in the latest twist of events.
In December last year, the outspoken senator sent the country into shocks when he announced his presidential bid.
Okong’o, the first time legislator who had launched his campaigns early this year is reportedly strategizing to enter Nyamira governorship race that has attracted at least five other contestants.
In several social media forums, posters bearing the senators governorship posters have been circulated by his close allies even though he hasn’t confirmed the latest turn out of events.
Should he go for governorship, he joins the long list of John Nyagarama (ODM), James Gesami (Independent), Walter Nyambati (Jubilee) among others.
And in parliament, Okong’o sent senators into laughters recently when he admitted having reportedly used Marijuana, an outlawed subsistence in the country.
During the heated motion, Okong’o challenged senators to legalize marijuana in the country adding that it bore no side effects health wise.
