The Uasin Gishu County Assembly has approved names of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) that will hold various leadership positions in the House.
A list of the County Assembly leadership was tabled on Tuesday by the leader of Majority who has retained his seat, the Karuna/Mibeki MCA Josphat Lowoi.
Lowoi will be deputised by nominated MCA Jenny Jebet, daughter to former powerful politician, the late Mark Too.
Hosea Lamai, the Kapsaos MCA remains the Assembly's Deputy Speaker.Ng'enyilel MCA David Sing'oei retained his seat as the majority chief whip while Cheptiret/Kipchamo MCA will be his deputy.
Isaack Kirwa Kemboi (Kapsoya) and Kimumu's Sarah Malel were appointed to be members of the County Assembly Service Board.
The Assembly will however operate without the leader of minority position after the Speaker ruled that there was no other party with at least 5 percent representation in the House as legally required to hold that position.
Uasin Gishu County Assembly has 28 MCA's elected on Jubilee party, one ODM MCA and one MCA elected on an independent ticket.The Jubilee party was also given all the 17 nominated MCA slots.
