Marsabit MCA Central MCA Hassan Wako has accused police of laxity in tackling insecurity after 6 people have been brutally killed in three weeks.

Wako, who on Saturday spoke in Marasabit town said police have taken too long to investigate the murders in a latest incident where a businessman was shot dead by assailants in Moyale on Thursday.

“We are saddened by these heinous acts and we are asking the police to hasten investigations and arrest the culprits,” Wako said.

He added; “Many people are scared to walk at night,” Wako added.

According to the County police commander Ben Kogo, the attackers pursued the businessman from Equity Bank, where he had withdrawn Sh5 million.

He said the businessman took a boda boda with a friend.

“The robbers shot him in the stomach, but did not steal anything. He died at Moyale Hospital,” Kogo said.

Residents are in a panic, but Kogo said investigations are going on to bring the culprits into book.
