Kirinyaga gubernatorial hopeful Martha Karua was on Saturday heckled by irate youths during her campaigns.
The youths shouted her down, as they sang pro-Waiguru slogans, accusing the former Gichugu MP of doing so little to improve the people's living standards.
Trouble reportedly ensued when Karua accused Waiguru of corruption, calling on the locals to reject her candidature.
Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru is also eyeing the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
She trounced the incumbent governor Joseph Ndathi to win the party's ticket during the primaries.
Karua served as Gichugu legislator for four consecutive terms.
She will be seeking the governorship seat on her Narc Kenya Party ticket.
