He wrote: "In remembrance of Christ's ultimate sacrifice, we reaffirm God's preeminence in our lives and surrender our being to Him. Through His enduring mercies, grace and favour, we testify to restoration, reconciliation and an abundance of goodness in our land."

In a brief but weighty response, Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua asked the Deputy President to exercise practical remembrance of "Christ's ultimate sacrifice" by facilitating the return of self styled NRM Kenya general Miguna Miguna back to Kenya.

"Walk the talk by facilitating #MigunaMigunaReturns" Ms Karua replied

Narok County Senator Ledama Olekina on his part said: "Yes. True but try to emulate what you've written. I know to you words have got no meaning but try. Have some mercy on Miguna. That will be the best gift to Kenyans this Easter. Lets not preach water and drink wine."

Another user @RWaruguruM responded: "You have evaded the wrath of the judicial systems but you cannot do the same with the wrath of God.. You will endure far much worse than Miguna.. Your time will come.. No Man is above God's Law.. Soon.. Very soon.. Justice will be served!!"

@dishen_dshen protested: "Fine... Easter too... Lemme differ with you a little bit.. The whole tweet here is ironical and doesn't reflect the wholesome of you... Kenya lies in your hands the duo and what's happening in Kenya are just unacceptable!!... I will follow you to church but let's not celebrate."

@lewa_alewa wrote: "Man, people will remember you by your actions and not what you utter or tweet. Repent and treat people with dignity the one day you'll answer."

"Eisssh! Bwana Arch Bishop that's profound. @MigunaMiguna is Kenyan by Birth. Sedating #MigunaMiguna only exposed how helpless you are at his mention. Thank God you have kids. We shall Revist!!" @samwel_baraka replied.

Miguna Miguna was deported to Canada through Dubai on Wednesday.

The controversial lawyer was bundled onto an Emirates flight to Dubai while sedated, but attempts to force onto an onward flight to the UK flopped after he protested that he was unwell and had no requisite travel documents.

He said to have originated from the UK when he landed in Nairobi on Monday.

On arrival in Nairobi, immigration officials said he declined to hand over his Canadian passport to be stamped and therefore could not be allowed in.

He wildly frustrated a second attempt to have him sign documents to regularize his Kenyan status, which the government said he denounced when he acquired dual citizenship.
