Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa has said no further demonstrations will be carried out in the region.
Addressing journalists in his office on Wednesday, Marwa said political temperatures in the Coastal region have been raised following the anti-IEBC demonstrations that were carried out on Monday.
The regional coordinator said that Mombasa in particular has been a hot bed of violence in the recent past, yet the government had succeeded in curbing the vice through peaceful means.
“Monday's anti-IEBC demonstrations only succeeded in fanning ethnicity and political temperatures, something that is not good for the region,” said Marwa.
He insisted that no further demonstrations will be carried out in any of the Coastal counties, in a bid to maintain peace in the country.
