Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa has taken a swipe at teachers and school board members over increased arson attacks in schools.
Marwa who was accompanied by Kilifi County Commissioner Joseph Keter, wondered why the school managements only talk tough after the fire incidences.
"There have been indications of a looming unrest. There is always a sign that all is not well before students go on strike,” said Marwa.
“School heads should Identify the problems and solve them in a bid to prevent such incidences from occuring. Why do they talk tough after the arsonist attacks? Their talk is useless,” he added.
Speaking in Malindi on Wednesday, after security and education officials inspected a burnt dormitory at Malindi high school, Mr Keter banned selling of petrol in jerricans.
The school's library was razed down by fire six hours after the inspection of the burnt dormitory.
