Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi castigated the move, saying Marwa was like a puppet who was dancing to a political tune played by the Jubilee administration.

“Marwa must know that he is not working for President Uhuru Kenyatta but Kenyans who pay tax for him to earn a salary. He should not be always seen to be pleasing the president at the expense of working for Coast people,” said Mwinyi.

The MP said Marwa is a civil servant who is accountable to the people thus should not be positioning himself as a mini God, and should instead practice humility.

“Just because you talk directly to the president that does not give you the go ahead to insult and threaten leaders who have been elected by the majority,” said Mwinyi.

“Curbing insecurity and drug abuse at the Coast have proven to be beyond Marwa’s control and that’s why he is looking for other side shows to show that he is working,” he added.

Mwinyi vowed to petition the president to transfer the regional coordinator on grounds that he had overstayed his welcome at the Coast, adding that it was time for him to serve other Kenyans elsewhere.

“Why is it that every other commissioner has been transferred at one point while Marwa is glued to the Coast. Is there something that we are not being told? asked Mwinyi.
