Parents from Kitutu Masaba have reiterated their optimism that schools from the region will perform well in recently concluded national exams.
The parents say the tireless support that they have offered to both primary and secondary schools in the area will pay off.
Speaking at Gachuba grounds during the annual parents meeting on Wednesday, they noted that schools from the region had received maximum cooperation from parents and leaders, making them optimistic of good results.
“As parents, we have worked closely with our respective institutions and we are optimistic that schools are going to perform well. We cooperated as parents and even worked closely with area leadership to give our schools support they needed throughout the year,” said Kevin Oyaro on behalf of parents.
According to Oyaro, the region recorded reduced cases of interference of parents in schools and maintained that teachers and students had no reason not to perform.
“As your leaders, I want to congratulate you for tolerance in our schools. We have not received many cases regarding squabbles between school managements and parents from all zones. I am therefore optimistic that we played our part well and we expect a good reward,” he said.
They however urged school heads to call for meetings with parents at least twice in a term to discuss performance of their children.
“I want to challenge our teachers to consider making it regular for parents from all schools to have common seminars to asses performance. It’s worth because we can be able as parents to give more input in terms of logistics,” said Nyangena Temu.
