Maseno residents are accusing churches in the area of disturbance in the night by using public address systems during overnight services that are conducted on a daily basis.
According to the residents, the noise from the churches does not allow them to have a good rest at night, considering the fact that they had been working all day.
They are now calling on the churches to conduct services in a way that will not disturb neighbours.
“Sometimes you have spend the whole day in the sun working and in the evening all you want is a rest, but that does not happen because the worshipers sometime hamper us,” said Colleta Akothe, a resident of Maseno.
They are calling on those presiding the over the services to be low volumes when it comes to public address systems or better still be conducting the services without the address system because the audience at night is small.
“I don’t see the need of using a public address system when the audience is made up less than 50 people. This should not be case because some of us are unable to sleep at night because of the noise,” said Harun Okode.
Those who spoke to Hivisasa.com said that it is not wrong to conduct a service at night but also consider those around.
The situation is worsened by the fact that the churches are close to another.
