Two second-year Maseno University students have raised concern over the alleged refusal of a landlady to obey a court order requiring him to refund them money he received as rent deposit.
A Maseno court on October 2, 2015, ordered the landlady to refund Sh16,000 she received from Ednah Wafula and Joyce Wamboi after failing to secure them a room.
The order required the landlady to give back the amount within a month's time.
The two students say they paid the stated amount to the lady who promised to secure them a room but when they returned to school on the opening date, she hadn't honoured her promise while promising them to secure them a room for almost a month.
“It’s now almost two months yet she has not repaid back our money. She has gone silent and no longer picks our call. She promised to pay back before last week, but she no longer picks our calls,” said Wafula.
The rental house they claim to have paid for is at Wisdom Corner House in Maseno.
