Maseno School chief principal Paul Otula has been congratulated for his nomination to receive a national honour of the Order of the Grand Warrior.

The Maseno Old Boys Association chairman Charles Gitau said the principal had done a brilliant job at the lakeside national school.

“I am happy to learn that Otula is set to receive a national honour,” Gitau said.

“This is a clear indication that he is working round the clock to ensure that our old school’s all-round performance is excellent.”

The office of the deputy president has advertised the names of those shortlisted for the conferment of national awards expected to take place at State House, Nairobi.

The principal was nominated by the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts for the wonderful performance that Maseno School has recorded over the years in sports such as basketball, hockey, rugby and swimming as well as co-curricular activities such as drama and music.

Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma also told our reporter that the principal has made Kisumu proud by the school’s performance.

“I wish to congratulate him and assure him that my government is ready to offer any support that he may need.”

The principal had earlier been awarded the Head of State Commendation by former President Mwai Kibaki for school’s academic excellence.
