The students have asked the National government through President Uhuru Kenyatta to pay their lecturers so that they can continue with learning as they are tired of the 'act'.

While staging peaceful demonstrations in one of the hostels famously known as 'tsunami' a student from the institution was pictured with a banner written; "Uhuru pay our lecturers we are tired of intercourse. #lipa kama tenda."

Many students remain idle as there are no learning activities taking place in the institution as the lecturers strike is still on. The lecturers strike now enters its fourth week after the government failed to implement a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed between them and the university instructors..

Speaking to a Hivisasa writer in at Maseno University, Abiud Brooks a student said: "An idle mind is the devil's workshop. Comrades in the institution are idle leading to engagement in immoral activities. The only way to sort out this issue is the government to pay the lecturers so that we may go back to classes."

Brooks point was echoed by Joan Wanyama who stated that: "You know when students are in school and there are no learning activities going on, the only course being offered is 'intercourse'.

"Comrades are tired of this act and would like the lecturers strike to come to an end so that they can resume with their classes," she added.
