The guards confirmed that they are in possession of hundreds of lost national Identity Cards, student IDs, ATM cards and keys belonging to students in their custody.

This writer also noted that there are even newer lost national Identity Cards as some were issued as late as December 2015.

Kennedy Wafula, a security guard at the University’s main gate has asked the students who have lost either their school or national ID cards to check for them at main gate.

He said he was perturbed at the rate at which the important documents were pilling at the security office and that no one was concerned to come and look for their lost items.

"Students must ensure they make proper follow ups after losing their documents as they can be picked and used by fraudsters to propagate crime,” said Wafula.

He called on students who have lost the document to report the cases to the security desk.

The guards said some cards were lost because of student carelessness.
