According to the students, quick investigations into the matter is a way of avoiding speculation among students, something they say might lead to tension.

"We are eager to know what really transpired so that we can resume normal businesses. Investigations should be comprehensive and no stone should be left unturned," said Timothy Kateri, a student at the institution.

The students said investigations will put to an end the ongoing blame game over who or what caused the fire.

"There are talks about the source of the fire, and we might be accusing somebody wrongly. Therefore thorough investigations should be conducted so that those responsible are brought to book," said Purity Kasinya, a student.

The students were reacting to a fire incident that gutted down the finance, registry and students' welfare offices on Thursday 2am leading to destruction of property and important documents.
