Maseno University will have graduation ceremony on 15th December as posted in the official website of the institution but the increased number of missing marks worries the graduation candidates.
According to the list mounted on the official notice board of the institution, more than 150 students will not be allowed to graduate due to missing marks.
Most missing marks come from Information and Technology course, which is compulsory to everyone.
Students in the institution through social media and leaflets have complained over lack of lectures in the program and lack of concern from administration to help the stranded students.
Joab Mbare, a student who is supposed to graduate this year says he received his transcript and the only unit he had failed was computer studies which he has to sit for again.
He went earlier this week to the director of student affair to ask for supplementary exam but was denied.
He later approached respective lecturers to request for his answer booklet to prove he scored 13 marks but they told him it was impossible. Moab suspects the lecturers never marked the examination due to the big number of students.
“If they can’t mark our examination what is the essence of taking this program? They should change this program to become optional,” Moab said on Friday.
However SOMU president on Friday morning said he was well abreast with the issue and through his official Facebook account told the aggrieved students to stay calm as he had contacted the director of student affairs, Professor Oracha and a program will be laid down soon to have all students who missed exams sit for supplementary examination
