The KUSA games were attended by a number of Universities both from all over the country.

The games played included, football, volleyball, table tennis among others.

During a football  match between Maseno and Kenyatta University, students from the institution invaded the pitch and beat up the referee after their women's team lost 1 -0 to the visitors.

The students claimed that the referee was unfair in his ruling as he had denied them two clear penalties.

Following the unfortunate incident, KUSA announced that it would investigate the matter.

On Monday, the agency completed the investigation and stated that it had found Maseno University students guilty of assaulting a match official.

Due to the action of the students,  KUSA banned both Maseno football and volleyball team from hosting or participating in any of the games in the country for five years.

As part of the ban, no sports team is also allowed to visit Maseno for any friendly match until the end of the five-year period.
