Maseno university student leader Fred Makajos has come out to dismiss reports that students from Central Kenya and Rift Valley regions are being targeted by some ethnic thugs driven by political motives.
This comes after threats went viral in the University social media platform and the neighboring homesteads that the students from Central Kenya, Rift Valley and others areas that doesn’t support the opposition will be hunted down and mistreated if they do not vacate the university within 24 hours.
In the past two days another group dispatched some notices on the school official noticeboard and around the college warning Kikuyu and Kalenjin students to vacate the college or they will face the consequences.
However the SOMU leader dismissed those threats terming them ridiculous. He warned those responsible to stop intimidating fellow students with such ill statements. He further urged the students to stay in peace and harmony with each other as they have been always.
“We have always loved each other from the start. Politics will come and go and you should not harm your neighbor because of politics. It will never benefit you at the end,” said Fred Makajos on Wednesday during a prayer session in the institution.
He promised that the institution administration is working to take down the thugs.
