Kevin Walubengo, a student of Maseno University, was one of the sixteen people who lost their lives during the horrific Sachangwan accident on Tuesday afternoon.
Kevin was headed to Maseno University from Nairobi ahead of his graduation ceremony on Friday.
Students at the university have been left in shock after learning the death of one of their colleague just 24 hour after burial ceremony of George Waweru; who was a fourth year student pursuing bachelors in Art and Design.
George Waweru was knocked down to death on 4th December by a speeding trailer in a tragic accident at River Ridge in Maseno.
“We have lost another of our own. Kevin travelling to Maseno for his graduation ceremony died in Sachangwan accident. May his soul rest in peace,” said Linus Sang, SOMU Secretary-General, through a phone call.
While still at the university in his fourth year, Kevin was staying at Pink House Student Hostel.
The accident happened during the eve of Jamhuri Day and it involved a number of vehicles including a bus that belong to Modern Coast Bus Company, to which the student was one of the passengers on board.
The deceased will be the fifth student to pass away at Maseno University in 2017. Other three died during NASA countrywide demonstrations against IEBC.
