Fredrick Philemon a second year student at Maseno University lost his mother during NASA demonstration in Kibera, Nairobi.
She was accidentally shot in her house in Kibera by police who were firing bullets in the air to disperse NASA demonstrators on Monday.
“A bullet was shot and came flying right on top of our roof and caught up with her right thigh then she bled profusely,” Fredrick said on Wednesday through a phone call.
“When I was on the search she left me just like that,” Fred narrated painfully.
The now orphaned boy managed to recover other two bullets on top of the roof and other tiny one in the house where she was lying.
The body is at Nairobi city mortuary.
However Fred is concerned with the mortuary bill which accumulates as the days passes. They have to pay at least Sh500 daily as a family and the mother has to stay in the mortuary for less than ten days as directed by mortuary management due to congestion.
He is appealing to well-wishers to help him and his standard three sister.
