Drama engulfed Gesiaga village for the better part of Friday after angry Maseno University students forcefully evicted relatives to one of their deceased colleague from funeral.
According to Erustus Abuta, one of the students, said they had been tipped by some of the villagers that the relatives allegedly killed Julius Nyabuti through witchcraft.
"We are aware that Nyabuti was killed by those witches and that is why we evicted them," said Abuta.
The burial is currently ongoing as only close relatives are allowed to join the event as the comrades conduct the service.
Julius Nyabuti was a third year student at Maneno University and he died last week from swollen limbs.
However, some of the relatives who were chased away condemned the varsity students act and accused the first family of feeding them with wrong and evil messages.
"We condemn the act as majority of us came here to ensure that the send off of one of us is successful only to meet a shock," said Jane Raini one of the relatives
